A: Yes, the FCS Foundation awards funding to accepted scholars to help defray the cost of their educational degree.

A: We’re working on this list. Please check back soon, or join our mailing list for more information. We’re seeking to facilitate world-class educational opportunities, and will be partnering with top programs accordingly.

Q: Is my gift tax-deductible?

A: Yes. All gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible, as applicable by law. The FCS Foundation is classified by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization.

Q: I’d like my company to match my gift. How can I receive additional information to help support this?

A: We’re excited that you’re as passionate about our mission we are. Please contact us either via our contact page, or at click here and we will provide additional information as necessary.

A: You can send correspondence to us through our contact form, or you can send us an email. We’d love to hear from you.

Q: Will I receive a receipt for my gift that can be used when filing my income taxes?

A: Yes. You will receive a receipt by mail for every contribution you make to the FCS foundation. This receipt can be used when filing your income taxes.

Do I have to live in Africa?

Yes, we are offering scholarships to African women of all nationalities and ethnicities currently residing on the continent.

Do I have to be targeting work in a certain field or sector after the completion of my degree?

No, we aim to support a diverse range of scholars and interests, and are sector-agnostic, and willing to fund women who intend to work in either the public or private sector.

How will we be selected?

Our selection committee will review all applications and screen for academic excellence, eager and energetic community impact, a demonstration of leadership potential, and a certain “it factor”. We seek to bridge the funding gap for those in need of support to obtain their degree. More details on our criteria and application process coming soon.

Our goal is to fund the education of African women who seek to return home to make an impact and inspire others, just as Dr. Farai Shonhiwa did. However, we understand that not all paths are straight lines, and you may not return home immediately. We look forward to hearing about how and when you’d like to make an impact on the continent during your application process.
